About
Travis Wake Charters runs a Nautique GS24 out of Austin with a captain at the wheel and the surfboards, wakeboard and vests already on board. Most of what they do is the watersports charter: three to seven hours on the Nautique, up to twelve people, with the captain reading the group and running the day the way it wants to go. Surf behind the boat, tube the kids, or find a cove and float. A tube and lily pad come along if you ask when you book. Wakesurf lessons are coached by Jacob Jensen, who surfed every day for three years in Costa Rica. Two to four hours, just your group, first-timer or working on a 360 — most first-timers are up and riding on day one. There is also a twelve-person pontoon for groups that want shade, swimming and cove-hopping rather than a wave, and an electric Awake RÄVIK jetboard available as a two-hour escorted demo. Joe Mohn owns the boat and captains the charters. Born and raised on Lake Travis. If you are staying at a house or rental on the lake, they pick your group up at its dock. Everyone else meets them at their usual spot in Hudson Bend, with directions sent before the trip.
